Notes: I hope you like the new site layout.  Hopefully it'll make these pages a little easier to navigate.  From now this page will be updated once a month.  This is considered to be the March update.  I've posted some new details about a new fan-fiction contest.  I updated the Recommendations page.  And lo and behold, I even updated the Nitpicks page!

12/28/01
Yes, kids, I'm still alive?  (Where have I been? 10 college applications, 2 performances of the Collins cast, and more games of Dance Dance Revolution than I care to admit).  27 new stories today (Yay!) and one updated story.  They are:
Astrid: Better Than Nothing, Sessions, Like a Friend
Baby Caramel: I'm Sorry, Mantra, Through My Blood
Fianna: First Love, Hold Me, Just Some Guy, "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not"
Jolie: Beneath the Surface, Off Guard, The First to Fall, Untitled1
Kaydee Falls: A Happy Medium
Shesacapella: Softly as a Scream
Sofie: A Guardian Angel, Forgive and Forget, Leaving New York, Real Life's Getting More Like Fiction Each Day, "Same, Only Different", Unsent Letters, What a Piece of Work is Man

Updated:
Jen: A Change of Fate

I'm thinking of running another Rent fan-fiction contest, but it won't start until after I'm done with midterms (which come in a couple of weeks).  Oh, and if you haven't seen tick, tick...Boom!, buy the soundtrack!  It's just as good as Rent.

P.S. I have a new Aida 'fic up on the Aida page, for those of you who are following that.

11/8/01
Anyone notice how whenever I say a couple of days I mean two weeks?  Oy, sorry, took me a while to get organized.  The new stories are: "Unsent" by Erato227, "A Change of Fate" by Jen, "Losing My Mind" and "Perpetual Anticipation" by Kaydee Falls, and "Connection in an Isolating Age" by Rose Courfeyrac.
Please keep sending stuff in.  It will be posted evenutally.  Now if only I could get around to working on my Aida fan-fic...

10/23/01
The contest results are up, the contest results are up!  Go look!  I've decided to put off putting up the new stories for another couple of days because all but one I've lost and need to re-e-mail the authors (is that a word?)
Authors, PLEASE send me stuff.  Things have been slow around here lately.
Oh, and for those of you who are following my Aida page and fan-fic, I updated that.

10/16/01
Big apologies for the lack of updates.  I'm not sure how, but I got a virus.  I didn't want to update while I had it (common sense).
Anyway, I'm back.  Contest results will be up by the end of the weekend (I didn't get any judging done while the computer was down).  PLEASE, authors, submit stories (things have been slow lately).  I'm alive...I promise!  I did get a few new stories during the downtime, and they'll be up by the end of the weekend too.

9/16/01

I've changed the colors on all of the pages in support of the US.  I'm not sure what my thoughts are about war, but I want to support my country.  To anyone who has been effected by the September 11th tragedy, my prayers are with you (as well as to all in NY and DC).  God bless America.
On that note, the worst thing we can do is take our angers on people of Middle Eastern descent in our country.  That only spreads hate.  Please, remember that hate (especially when it's as misplaced as it is now) only makes things worse.
The deadline for the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge is over.  Once again, I'll take late entries with good excuses, but please don't be too late.  See the contest page for details.
The new stories for today are "I Think We've Met" by Erato227 and "The Morning the Skyline Changed by Kaydee Falls."  I'd like to call attention to the second one, which deals with the events of Tuesday.  Kaydee did a very nice job with it.

9/9/01

WAAAH!  Heather Headley's last performance of Aida is today!  And I'm here...nowhere (aka Massachusetts).  Ah well.  Idina Menzel is starting as Amneris this week!  YAY!  Miaka needs to see Aida again...
New stories are "Always So Certain" by Kaydee Falls and "To Save Roger" by Lonewolf.  Remember, the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge ends on the 15th, just 6 days away.  If you're thinking about submitting something, make sure to do so soon.  I've decided that the deadline will be midnight.  If you have a good excuse (ie. your computer crashed), I'll still take the story as long as I get it within a few days of Saturday.
I'm looking for a copy of Broadway on Broadway 2001, which is supposed to air on NBC in New York and some other areas on Monday the 10th (the actual concert is on the 9th).  Unfortunately (boo hiss), mine isn't one of them.  If anyone would be willing to tape it/copy it for me, I could either send you a blank, pay you for the cost, or trade (I have a variety of Rent, Aida, and anime stuff).  Please e-mail me at Miaka1164@aol.com

9/3/01

New stories for today are "Untitled" by Alyssa and "Untitled" by Carolyn (guys, you need to tell me what the titles are!).  I updated the About page slightly (I added a note about NC-17 rated fan-fiction and directly linking to stories).
The Rent Fan-Fiction Contest closes in less than two weeks, so if you're thinking about sending something in, please do so soon.  I've put up the final copy of the scoresheet.
Thanks to everyone who answered the poll.  In the next couple of days I'm going to change the question, so if you guys can answer that too, I'd appreciate it.
As for the Nitpickers page...I'll get to it...eventually...

8/26/01

BIG thanks to Astrid for mentioning to me that I hadn't uploaded the Stories page right.  It should be working alright now.  New stories for today are: "Don't Screen" by Alyssa, "Enter Muse" by Maureen Diva, "Grown Up" by Linnel, and "A Girl I Knew" by Kaydee Falls.  "Just One Summer" by KickAssDwarf has been edited, as well.
There's about a month left for the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge, so keep sending in the entries!  For those of you who have entered the contest or are going to, please see the Challenge page.  I've clarified a couple of things.  Especially if you've already entered, check that page to make sure I received your story.  I'm getting the feeling that I'm missing a story somewhere in there.  Also, if you're sending a story for the contest, make sure you say so in your e-mail.  Otherwise I'll just post it with the rest of the stories.
My e-mail is starting to get a little crazy lately, and I'm a little worried that not all the 'fics that are in my in-box end up on the site.  I don't think I've done this yet, but if a month has gone by, I've made a couple of updates since, and you don't see your story up, e-mail me and I'll see what happened.
You'll also notice the poll popping up on the main page now.  I'm trying to decide whether to redesign the site, and how fast people are loading the page is an important factor.  Please take a second to answer the question on the main page.  Yes, I know it's annoying, but bare with me.
The Nitpickers page is absolutely crazy.  I've been really bad for the last couple of months about responding to the people who send me their own nits.  I also lost a lot of old nits when I had to reinstall AOHell.  I apologize to everyone whom I didn't respond to.  Sometime in the next week or so I'm going to actually update the damn thing.

8/19/01

Hi all.  New stories today are: "Love" and "Control" by Rookie2k and "Dive", "On the Road", "Rainstorm", "Throw It On the Fire", "The Hardwood Floor", "Use Me", and "What Needed Change"
by Astrid, and "Burnt By the Wind" by The Lady Drama.  I also updated the Links and About pages.
Due to fanfiction.net being down, I'm starting to get a lot more stories at a much faster rate.  Which I don't mind at all, but it means that it's taking more time for me to update the site.  Couple of new guidelines:

1. If you're sending a bunch of stories (such as a new author who has 15 'fics that aren't up here), please attach them in a .zip file.  If you don't know how to make .zip files, it's not a huge deal, but if you do it would help.
2. If you have a story that's made up of multiple parts, please send them as just one file (assuming it's already written)...I'm still taking stories that are unfinished.
3.  Especially if you've never submitted anything before, please put something about Rent, or your story title, or it being 'fic in the subject line.  I am getting an insane amount of junk mail lately.  So far I don't think that I've accidentally deleted any 'fic, but it could happen.

8/16/01

Okay, I'm back, meaning if you send me a story, it'll take me my usual slow time to post it as opposed to being put on hold ^_^
I updated the About page and changed the format slightly.  "Roger" by The Lady Drama has been updated.  New stories are:  "Surviving" and "Same Day, Different Way" by Jen, "For the Love of Her" by Joanne, and "Reverse Midas" by Kaydee Falls.
I already have two entries for the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge (which happen to be "Same Day, Different Way" an "For the Love of Her").  Please keep on sending them in!
For anyone who is following Elaborate Lives (my Aida fan-fic), I've posted a new part on the Aida page.

8/3/01

The new stories for today are "Ten Days" by KickAssDwarf and "Roger" by The Lady Drama.
From 8/4-10 I will be on vacation.  I will probably have access to e-mail, but I won't have access to updating this webpage.  So feel free to send me any new stories, but I won't be able to post them until I come back.
In order to stimulate the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge, I've started up something of a contest.  For the best entry I'm giving away one audio bootleg (either Rent or Aida).  This is a one-shot deal (unless it goes well), due to the fact that I have an extra tape after a trade screw up.  Please check out the details on the Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge page.

7/31/01

New stories for this week: "Where's My Cut???" by Amy, "Red Light, Green Light" by BearFeetz, "Just One Summer" by KickAssDwarf, and "Bottled Rage", "Ignorance", "Kody", and "Realization" by Rookie2k.
The Recommendations page was updated (thanks Kait!)  Everyone else, please send in yours!  I changed The Rent Fan-Fic Challenge in hopes of getting a response.
Um...the Atlanta version of Aida sucks, but in a fun-to-listen-to-and-compare way.  As I'm updating the page I'm listening to my bootleg of an early workshop.  Speaking of Aida, I've added a link to the (VERY) rough draft of my Aida page.  This is mostly just so I have somewhere to put my Aida fan-fiction (which has a Rent prologue).
Um...yell at me if any links are broken.  I uploaded a lot of stuff, so I just hope I got it all.

7/18/01

Bonjour!  Okay, another fairly big update.  Parts 3-5 of "Untitled" by Une Boheme have been posted, part 4 of Baby Caramel's "Untitled" is up, and a hoard of stories by Shelby.  They are: "Child of the Streets", "Do I Know You?", "Faith in a Bottle", "Faithful", "Frightened", "Heaven", "Just Like a Fairy Tale", "Lies", "Losing Him-Hating Them", "One More Day", "Sasha Fermot", "There's No Such Thing as the Best of Two Worlds", "This Was Not Promising to Be a Good Day", "Three Days", and "Why's He Crying?"  That's a grand total of (::counts::) 15!  Woohoo!  (plus the updated stuff)
I also added the "Stories by Subject" page.  I hope you like it, because it took me about an hour and my hands are in a lot of pain right now from all the typing...ow!  Finally, there's the Recommendations page, where you guys can post what your favorite stories are and why.  Please e-mail these in so  I can put something there.
As for the rest of the updates I promised a couple of weeks ago, the Aida page is coming along slowly but surely.  Um...anyone want to buy me a scanner?  The same goes for the rest of the updates.  Phew, this took a lot longer than I thought...and I was going to work on my Aida 'fic ::grumble grumble::...so tired...

7/2/01

Yup, I'm alive!  BIG update today.  14 new stories, kids!  They are: "How Could We Lose Angel?" by Amy, "Anything But Lonely" and "Untitled" by Baby Caramel, "Paintbrushes in the Closet" by Drakelah, "Mimi" by Eyela, "Fade to Black" by Jaime and Jessica, "Squeegee" by Kaydee Falls, "Issues" and "Use" by Lestater, "And Love Goes On", "Saving Grace", "She Was Huddled in the Park", and "Shut Up" by Liss, and "Untitled" by Une Boheme.  The Links page also got slightly updated.
Oooh, and I saw Aida!  Adam Pascal and Heather Headley were amazing.  I'm going to try to post a review in the next week or so.  Speaking of things that I'm going to try to do soon, I plan on making these pages look a little nicer, adding a review page (for shows I've seen, related CDs, etc), FINALLY updating the nitpickers page, adding some more stories, and launching an Aida page.  So look for that stuff coming sometime in the relative future.

5/21/01

Another new story by Kaydee Falls, this one is called "Illogical."  Not too much else is going around here.  I keep on meaning to put up a Possible Solutions page with the Nitpickers page, but like everything else, it keeps on getting pushed back (I also want to redesign the site sometime).
Hopefully sometime in the next couple of months I'm going to start an Aida fan-fic page as a companion to this one.  Not sure if I'll get too much 'fic (the Aida fandom is a lot smaller than the Rent fandom), but what the heck.
In completely unrelated news, the non-equity tour is coming to my city in November!  I hope it's decent...

5/1/01

Two new stories from Kaydee Falls: "Misconceptions" and "Unable to Cry."  Also, I briefly updated the About section.  Oooh, and I'm going to see Aida this summer!  Can't wait...

4/22/01

Okay, I'm back.  Please send me stuff again.  France was cool, but the Benny Tour was even better.  The entire cast was awesome!  If I can find a working scanner, I'll try to put up the pictures of me and the cast (yes, I braved the stage door).

Anyway, new part of Drakelah's "Candy" series is up.  I updated the Nitpickers page.  BTW, thank you to everyone who has sent me their possible solutions to the nitpicks.  I apologize if I haven't responded back to everything.  Eventually I'm going to start up a Possible Solutions page.

4/5/01

IMPORTANT!  I will be out of town from the 6th to the 15th.  I'm going to ask that people refrain from sending me stories during that period (I won't be able to update, and AOHell starts deleting old stuff once its full).  Ah...I can't wait.  10 days in France, then school vacation (and I get to see the Benny Cast!  YAAAY!!!!)
Okay, new story "Collins" by Joanne, and "April Showers", a new story by Kaydee Falls.  I will get around to updating (and correcting) the Nitpickers section, but not until I get back.

3/24/01

New story by Drakelah, "Time Won't Wait."  There are a few more links in the Link section.  Thanks to WillowXF for giving me some of the e-mail addresses I missed.  I really need to overhaul the Nitpicks section, which I'll try to do in the next couple of days.
On a completely off-topic note, I'm going to see the Benny cast in April!  I can't wait! (And I'm crossing my fingers that arrangements to see Aida (and Adam Pascal...can I use a parentheses in a parentheses?) come through this summer).

3/3/01

There's a new story up by Kaydee Falls, "South of Yesterday" (which is a response to The Rent Fan-Fiction Challenge).

2/19/01

Wow, long time no update!  I'm alive ^_^ New story by Drakelah, "Love in a Box" (next part of the Candy series).  I also updated the Nitpicks section.  Watch out for a new section hopefully coming in the next week or so.

1/23/01
New author, Kaydee Falls.  Check out her stories, "Hating Him" and "Last Shot."  Also, Bri and Alonewriter: I realized when updating I don't have your e-mail addresses on the site and I've lost them.  If you want me to put them up, could you e-mail them to me?

1/18/01
Hello!  It's been a while.  In between midterms and an overdose of Aida, I've been busy.  I updated the About page a while ago and fixed some things (thanks to whoever pointed out that Rent is based on La Boheme, NOT La Vie Boheme... ::shakes head:: and I KNEW that too) and I have a new nitpick that got sent into me on the Nitpick page (sorry, this is a small update.  Just wanted to let people know that I'm still alive).  I need fan-fiction, guys.  While I have some of my own Rent fan-fiction in the works, this site depends on the authors submitting stuff.  The site can't grow otherwise.  So if I have anything of yours on here and you have new stories or if you have fan-fic and you're not on here yet, please send your stories to me.  ::steps off the soap box::

12/29/00
I put up "Reviving Faith" by Drakelah (which is the next part of "Candy").  Sign the guest book, will ya?  This means YOU!   New story by Bri.  Also, two new sections, Challenges and Nitpickers Guide to Rent.

12/17/00:
New stories by Alonewriter and Rookie2k. Check them out!  BTW, does anyone know where I can find a free counter?  The one I have on the main page now doens't work.  All the links should work, but e-mail me if any are broken.

12/16/00:
Not a lot at this point.  This page is just getting started, and I need any sort of fan-fic relating to Rent (the point of a fan-fic archive is to archive fan-fics.  Therefore, Miaka needs fan-fics!  ^_^).  If you have any, please e-mail them to me at Miaka1164@aol.com.
